Settlement

If the spot price is higher than the Scarcity Price, the corresponding generating unit will be required to fulfill its OEF. When this happens, at least for one hour, at the end of the day the ASIC will verify that every generator delivers enough energy to fulfill its commitment by generating with its portfolio of assets according with the ideal dispatch, or by acquiring energy through the “Contingency Mechanisms”. If the daily commitment is not fulfilled, the ASIC will perform an hourly verification.

When a generator produces in the ideal dispatch more energy than the required to fulfill its OEF, he receives for every kWh additional to the OEF the difference between the spot price and the scarcity price.

The settlement and billing of the Reliability Charge is done by the ASIC.
